Located in beautiful Rockport Texas, Lulu’s Flowers was opened on November 4th, 2005. The business owner, Susan Hearne’s love for flowers started when she was 21-years old and was working for her parents at their flower shop in the San Fernando Valley in California. She began to realize how much she loved working with flowers and the passion for flowers which she always had. She loves making people happy and adores creating special and unique designs to fit each individual's needs.
She started managing her parents' flower shop after they retired in the mountains of Lake Arrowhead. Soon, she had four flower shops in the San Fernando Valley. Then, in 1986, she moved to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and opened two flower shops. They were both very successful. She sold both shops and decided for her next venture to work for someone. She moved to Houston, Texas and started working for a flower shop where she realized her prowess at sales. She took several design classes and attended many trade shows. She got a wonderful job offer in Colorado where her son was vice president of ten flower shops. She worked as manager-in-training and learned a lot about the business aspects.
In 2001, after missing the warm climate and the ocean, she moved to Rockport, Texas and worked in a flower shop. She had two family tragedies within nine months and lost her mom, Lulu, and her beautiful daughter, Jessica (22-years old), who was just married for five months. She knew she had to do something to keep herself busy; therefore, she decided to open another flower shop with her fiancé, Tracy Hearne. They named it "Lulu’s Flowers" in memory of her mother Lulu.
She loves the name Lulu’s Flowers and thought it would be a good and catchy name. Her best friend Tracy and she were married on March 18th, 2006. Tracy now does photography for weddings and parties, and his photos appear in The South Texas Bridal Magazine. They love Rockport and all their customers and continue to provide you with the best quality flowers and plants possible.
We specialize in custom beach weddings, parties and funerals. We have wedding packages starting at $129.50. We feature our own unique pink conch shell arrangements with tropical orchids, pink anthuriums and stargazer lilies. We also are known for our lovely topiaries which feature hot-pink roses and cut-up limes in a glass bowl. They are always a hit for any occasion. We carry a large selection of beautiful flowers, lovely house plants and European gardens. We also feature coastal gifts and pink flamingos for your garden, stuffed animals, balloons and custom-made gift baskets as well as our own line of candles.
